Welcome to the Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society (STIMS), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional Irish music and culture.
“The Shamrock Traditional Music Society has risen steadily in stature and must now be considered the premier East Coast, not-for-profit organization presenting high-quality live Irish traditional music.” — Earle Hitchner, The Irish Echo
Our concert series and financial support of select artists’ projects are funded largely by proceeds from our in-house, all-volunteer performance group the Shamrogues. Playing traditional Irish reels, jigs, hornpipes, and airs on a variety of traditional and modern instruments and song, the Shamrogues are excellent entertainment for your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations or other events throughout the year. Whether you require three musicians or a larger group, we are available to fit your needs.
In addition, we receive funding via cultural grants as well as donations from traditional Irish music enthusiasts like you. Donations are gratefully accepted and help to underwrite our concert series, with the goal of keeping ticket prices low. Please consider STIMS in your annual giving and estate plans. You may send tax deductible donations to Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society or STIMS, P.O. Box 486, Fairfield, CT 06824. 203-767-6439 (leave message).
Membership in the Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society, and the Shamrogues performance group in particular, is open to all who are interested in learning, teaching, performing, preserving, and listening to traditional Irish music.
